The Ved–Sanskrit Pathshala is dedicated to sustained Vedic study within a structured residential gurukul environment. With Shukla Yajurveda and the Upanishads at its core, and Sanskrit as the medium of learning, the Gurukul follows a disciplined daily rhythm guided by the Acharya.
Carrying Our Wisdom Forward
For centuries, India’s sacred knowledge has been preserved through dedicated learning and continuity. The Pathshala ensures that this wisdom continues to guide the world ahead.
Our mission is to preserve the purity and rhythmic precision of Vedic mantras while nurturing disciplined study of Veda and Sanskrit.
Through this tradition, the Pathshala works toward Vishwakalyan and gradually expands learning opportunities for girls and women to participate in this sacred knowledge.
Our vision has always been to ensure that Vedic and Sanskrit wisdom continues to guide human life with clarity, discipline, and cultural rootedness even in a changing modern world.
Our Origin
The Journey of the Gurukul
Spanning more than three centuries, the Gurukul’s journey reflects moments of guidance, commitment, and renewed dedication to Vedic learning. During his visit, Acharya Vinoba Bhave praised the purity of Vedic chanting in Mudeti and honoured the village with the title “Choti Kashi,” a recognition that continues to define its spiritual identity.
The Guiding Institution
The Trust and the Torchbearers
Bhagwan Yagnyavalkya Ved Tattvagnyan Yogashram Trust
The Bhagwan Yagnyavalkya Ved Tattvagnyan Yogashram Trust, established to preserve and promote disciplined Vedic study rooted in authenticity and tradition. Its commitment extends beyond instruction ensuring that the structure, environment, and guidance necessary for true Gurukul learning remain intact.
Shri Anantdev Shastri
Recognising the need to restore structured Vedic education in Mudeti, Shri Ananddev Shastri re-established the Pathshala in the 1990s. Beginning with small Vedic gatherings and later formalising teaching in 1998, his efforts transformed intention into institution grounded in discipline rather than expansion.
Jayendra Saraswati Shankaracharya
His visit in 1979 and counsel to establish a full-fledged Pathshala became a defining moment, strengthening the revival with spiritual direction and institutional clarity.
Over the years, the Gurukul has been sustained by Acharyas, Gurujis, and dedicated supporters who upheld precision in chanting, Sanskrit scholarship, and daily discipline ensuring that the tradition did not dilute with time.
The institution stands today not on one individual, but on a continuum of custodianship.
The Academic Focus
What We Teach and Preserve
The Pathshala is centred on rigorous Vedic study, rooted in textual precision and disciplined oral transmission. Its curriculum is structured around the following foundations:
Become Part of the Continuity
Every generation inherits tradition. Few choose to uphold it.
The Gurukul continues through students who dedicate themselves to study, teachers who preserve its discipline, and supporters who recognise the value of sustaining such institutions.
To step forward is to participate in something older than ourselves and to help carry it responsibly into the future.
